Floral prints!

Thursday, January 12th, 2012

New year , new trends and 2012 has some great looks that will be hitting the shops very soon if not now.

Floral prints are always in season, but this year they are back again and be prepared to see lots of floral patterns hitting the high street from the catwalk!

Head to toe floral prints are big this year ….last year it was all about clashing and this year it is about wearing the whole print top and bottom!

Just by adding a hint of floral to your wardrobe essentials can transform a look. Or even if you do not want to copy a whole trend accessorising with a print works well.

Below Peter Som and J.Crew have both illustrated this on the catwalk with a suiting range in bright floral designs.

Digital print is also big this Spring and be sure to see lots of dresses and jackets in graphic floral print!

Diane Von Furstenburg without a doubt has signature prints and she has added her own unique twist on the floral print.

The prints are subtle and chic and completely wearable and flattering.

I love the use of soft fabrics and colour palette that show off these strong patterns.

Lovely Lace

Wednesday, December 14th, 2011

Christmas is upon us, and what better to wear throughout the festive period than a lace dress. Lace is always stylish and with so many options to choose from at the minute you can’t go wrong when finding a good style that suits you.

Lace is chic and sophisticated without being too over the top.

First off is exactly that. A classic take on a lace dress. This dress by Malene Birger £279, is simple yet chic, completely timeless and a great shape. On trend with the black leather trim details and glamorous. This is an all round perfect dress and can be worn teamed with heels or flats on Christmas day!

Next is this figure hugging lace dress by Reiss £110. This is a great dress if you do not want to wear all lace. The lace sleeves flatter the arms. Looks great worn with opaque tights!  This is also a great staple black dress for your wardrobe.

This lace dress from Topshop £48, is perfect if you want to try lace in another colour.  This dress is a very flattering shape that clinches the waist. This is so versatile and can be dressed up with heels and a clutch bag or dressed down with ankle boots and flat pumps. A brilliant day to night piece!

Last but not least I have to mention this stunning dress from Karen Millen £135, in the sale from £199. This dress is gorgeous with sleeves that flatter and a great classic shift dress shape. I love the lace embroidery. This dress is a fantastic addition to your wardrobe for seasons to come and will never date.

Winter Coats!

Monday, November 21st, 2011

The temperatures are dropping and it’s time to say farewell to the trusty jacket and bring out those winter coats. We’re starting to feel the chill now and so this is the perfect time to go out and purchase possibly one of the winter wardrobe’s least favourite item; the winter coat.

Winter coats can be big and bulky as they’re meant to keep us warm, however you don’t have to loose your shape by wearing a winter sac, instead opt for coats that have some sort of tailoring, or details such as belts to nip you in at the waist and reveal your feminine figure.

Take this beautiful Reiss coat, the large collar is a great feature, and the tailoring behind it will ensure your shape is not lost in the midst of a warm, thick coat. The colour is great as well as it creates a softer look against a harsh winter backdrop.

Don’t be afraid to embrace colour and go for a winter coat that isn’t black or grey. Wearing this Diane von furstenberg coat will warm you up instantly in this great, deep red colour. The belt helps enhance the feminie figure and the length will be sure to keep you warm on those cold winter days.

If you’re budget can’t quite stretch to DVF prices – head to French Connection who always have a great range of winter coats to choose from, such as this cream belted coat which is under £200. A feminine neckline and the belt making another appearence, this will be a winner for lots of you I’m sure!

I hope that has given you some inspiration to find your perfect winter coat – if you find anything else, feel free to comment and share your purchases, we’re always keen to see what our readers have been buying!
