New Discovery: DESA

Saturday, June 25th, 2011

I decided to take a look around Covent garden yesterday As I knew there had been some redevelopment work recently and shops had shifted around.

I came across St Martins Courtyard where there is among others Jaeger, twenty twelve and ‘new to the uk’ brand Desa.

Desa was founded in Turkey in 1972 as a leather manufacturing leader – so expect their craftsmanship to be among the best! They offer simple but quality designs that will stand the test of time.

Although they specialise in leather, they also had some great silk items too such as this fab work dress. Classic but with a twist and great quality as well.

These leather raw-edge wedges are also bang on trend and on sale, too!

And finally, how could we talk about a great leather-based brand without mentioning a good quality work bag – this one in particular fits A LOT in!!

Summer Bright Bags

Tuesday, April 26th, 2011

Get into the mood for summer with a brightly coloured bag! Whether you’re after a shopper, a clutch or a mini bag (super hot trend for summer 2011), we’ve got the best bright bags for you…

Red: We are in LOVE with this Plaited Shopper from Zara, £79.99. We think it’s brilliant for summer but would transition well into Autumn and beyond as well, adding in a much needed pop of colour amongst all the black and dark colours we usually see come Autumn/Winter time.

Orange: Orange you glad to see this little beauty?! We love the vintage style of this bag and of course it’s eye-popping colour! Flat Lock bag from ASOS, £45.

Yellow: Take the colour of summer with you wherever you go (even on those grey, rainy days) with this Marc by Marc Jacobs Cosmo Quilted bag, £260.

Green: Another great year-round colour is this green satchel from the Cambridge Satchel Co. (comes in many different sizes, am quite tempted to use one as a laptop bag!), £78 (13″).

Blue: If I were a rich girl… I’d be buying this Nancy Gonzalez clutch, £1965. Known for her beautiful crocodile bags in stunning colours, Nancy is the queen of bright bags.

Pink: Technically this colour is “coral” although it looks more pink to us. Nevertheless, the Proenza Schouler PS1 bag is a new classic and it’s been updated for summer in this season perfect colour, £1215.

Bag Ladies

Tuesday, March 15th, 2011

We love a good bag and we’ve spotted some gorgeous bags suitable for work we’re just dying to show you…

First up, we have this gorgeous and uber luxurious lambskin bag from Banana Republic – a snip at £150. We know black is an old favourite for workwear since it goes with anything but if your wardrobe could do with a pop of colour then this is the perfect option, although they also have grey and black versions as well. We just love the look of that leather!

Next we have two bags from brand of the month, Britt Lintner. These two Milli Millu bags have been picked by Britt to stock on her website and for good reason too – these bags would sit perfectly on the arm or shoulder on any of her pieces! We love the New Yorker bag (center) which also fits an 13″ laptop without looking bulky or boring. Finally, isn’t this bag a beauty? The Monte Carlo bag is described as a classic bag with a twist, which describes it perfectly. I can’t stop oogling that perfect bag shape, the lovely closure and the classic chain and leather strap. The bag also comes in a beautiful blush pink shade and is deceptively large as it fits a 12″ laptop too! (Time to shave an inch off my laptop somehow…)
